I have this little 5-10 minutes exercise thing I try to do everyday. I haven’t seen too many results yet, but it really helps you get going if you do it first thing in the morning.

I’m going to go pretend to plan a weekend getaway to The Island for June. I may take it. We could use a little family vacation.

Annabelle in formed us last night that the sun had eaten the moon and we had to wait until the moon got out. Green means go!

The News

As most of you know, for the last year and a half, my family and I have been leading the Light, a daughterwork/church-plant in the North End of Saint John.

It has been decided by the people who decide these things that since our lease is up on our building, coupled with the lack of growth and other reasons, that next week will be the last week for the existence of the Light.

It’s a sad day for us. We’ve put a lot of time, effort, prayers, and energy into this, but unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be.

Some people would see this as a failure, and maybe in some ways it is. However, I have learned a lot from the experience. I’ve learned time management, planning, how to teach, what works/doesn’t work for planting churches, how important having a team is, how taxing it can be on a family, and how lead people. I’ve learned a lot of things that will help me later in life and ministry.

I’m going to miss it, and I’m sure in the next few weeks I will have withdrawals and struggle with not going stir-crazy. I’ll probably have to fight with some “what if’s” and play every scenario out in my mind. I’ll probably get mad. I’ll probably be relieved. But I will move on. I will continue to work for the Lord. I will continue to serve at my local church and do what I can.

So, the plan for us is to take it easy, if you will, over the summer. Just have fun being a family. I may preach around a bit if people will have me. Come Fall, we will revisit some options, and if a door opens, we may go through it. I have no doubt that the Good Lord has something else in store for us. I’m excited to see what it is. I’m excited to see where we will be and what is going to happen.

So as of next week, I guess you could call us free-agents.

If you could, I’d appreciate your prayers. Pray that God opens something for us. Pray that we wouldn’t get frustrated. Pray that whenever He does open something for us, there would be no doubt in any of our minds…that it’d be such a perfect fit we would be amazed.

Thank you all for your prayers and support over the last few years. We love you.

NHL Playoff predictions

Because I do this every year. I’m never close. This year, to be honest, to me, it looks wide open. I think anyone can take it.

WEST

Chicago over Minnesota in 5 (Minnesota is a joke)

Detroit over Anaheim in 7 (I originally thought Anaheim might take the Cup, but Detroit is a tough first round)

Vancouver over San Jose in 6 (We all know how SJ plays in the playoffs…Vancouver usually waits til the next round before they start choking.)

LA over St Louis in 6 (This one could go either way)

EAST

Pittsburgh over NY Islanders in 5 (I think the Isles will surprise them a couple games)

Montreal over Ottawa in 7 (It’s going to be close…maybe not 7 games, but I think every game will be a close score)

Washington over NY Rangers in 4 (I had to pick a sweep. Washington is on fire, and the Rangers are as slow as death.)

Boston over Toronto in 5 (Sorry Leaf fans. I hate both of these teams, but the Bruins are actually a good team, while the Leafs have a good coach.)

Oh the red dirt road!
I can’t wait until things start growing though… PEI has the most vivid colours, with its red red soil, the greenest greens, and the most beautiful blue sky of any place I’ve ever been.
